Bedroom Decorating Ideas On A Budget

Is your bedroom starting to look a little boring? Wouldn’t it be nice to give it a quick makeover, but without wasting a lot of time and money? There are actually many easy and budget-friendly decorating ideas you can try. All you need is a little bit of creativity and some inspiration.

Take this bedroom as an example. Before it looked all cramped and all over the place. By rearranging the furniture, getting rid of the unnecessary features and with some new light fixtures, the whole room transformed into this bright, relaxing and serene space. The after picture illustrates all these changes.

Rearrange the furniture.

One of the easiest ways to give a room a fresh new look is by reorganizing the furniture. This doesn’t cost the thing. Just put the bedroom against the opposite wall, maybe fit it in the corner and find a way to rethink the whole layout.

A fresh coat of paint.

Another great way to completely change the ambiance in the bedroom is by painting the walls a different color. Choose something different from the colors the room used to have. For example, if the walls were white, then add a bold touch to the room with some blue, green or yellow.

Mix and match fabrics.

To make a bedroom feel warm and cozy you can use fabric. Try to combine different types of fabric and different textures. For example, get a fluffy rug or carpet, a really tall padded headboard or cover a wall with fabric.

Add some new pillows.

The pillows are wonderful accent details for the bedroom. So if you want the room to look new and different, get some new pillows. Maybe something in a bold color would do the trick. Add some cozy pillows to the chair in the corner to create a comfy reading spot.

Mix it up with a patterned area rug.

Area rugs are excellent for introducing color and pattern to any room of the house, not just the bedroom. For this particular space, you can either choose something really eye-catching to complement a minimalist décor or something simple but still interesting like a striped rug for example.

Decorate with flowers.

Fresh flowers and potted plants always add freshness to a room. For the bedroom, choose something light-colored and simple. Stay away from fragrant-smelling flowers because they can give you headaches and have the opposite effect. Try something light that relaxes you.

Hang wall art.

Create focal points in the bedroom using wall art. You can hang a few framed photos on a wall or maybe something less personal. Inspirational posters are also an idea. An abstract painting can prove to be quite relaxing. You can also pick a theme and match the wall art to the rest of the room’s décor.

Get new nightstands.

Replace your old nightstands with something fresh and new. You don’t necessarily have to go out and buy new furniture. You can use a vintage chair, an antique table or even a ladder as a nightstand. This would be a nice and interesting change.
