Spice jars are usually not very attractive so they get tucked into a cabinet out of sight. Instead, try making a chic test tube spice rack to keep your commonly used varieties on display and at your fingertips. Start by drilling five large holes into a length of wood as shown. Stain the drilled board along with the pieces of wood that will serve as legs. Glue the pieces together and add rubber pads on the bottom of the legs to keep it from sliding. Slide a rubber O-ring on each test tube, fill them with spices and place them in the rack. There you have it – a stylish way to keep spices right at hand!
