Some of the coolest – and most fun – light fixtures that we have seen are made from upcycled buckets, baskets, tubs and other containers. You can make your own very easily using an enamel colander. Upcycle one that you already own, or buy one in a color that complements your décor. Start by enlarging the center hole in the bottom using an electric drill. Then, all you have to do is thread a light socket through the colander as shown. Add a large round bulb and install the fixture on the ceiling. This is great whimsical and budget-friendly light for hanging over a kitchen table or an island.
