A stylish and rough-hewn coffee table can be yours for the cost of a few boards and some trendy hairping legs. Start with two boards the same size that have one natural or rough edge. Line up the even edges and sand it all down. Next, take two narrower boards and place them across the joint of the two larger pieces as shown. These will serve as braces for the table as well as the location for attaching the legs. Screw each cross brace to the table top in four different places as shown. Stain the entire piece. When it is dry, turn it over so the bottom faces up and attach the legs evenly. Finally, add the rubber pieces to the tips of the legs to safeguard your floor from scratches. It’s now ready to go wherever you want a stylish and rustic coffee table. A little work and you have a trendy and versatile piece for a very low cost!
