Contemporary beach house in Lima with a minimalist design

This contemporary property is located in Palabritas Beach, Lima, Peru. It was completed in 2009 and it was designed by Lima-based design studio Metropolis. It was envisaged as a space from where the owners would be able to capture and admire the views of the beach and the islands. The deliberately minimalist design is based on the idea that nothing could ever surpass the beauty of the surrounding landscape so instead of trying to steal the attention from it they should try to make it the star.

The house has a contemporary design and features delicate curves and a white finish with red accents. This simple color palette is visible in both the interior and exterior design and it also includes the swimming pool and the furniture. Visually, the house resembles a white box elevated above the ground. One side features a perforated wall that allows the inhabitants to catch a glimpse at the outside décor white also preserving the privacy.

Inside, the living and dining rooms are separated by a sliding glass door. It’s a flexible element that can both delimitate and bring these spaces together when needed. The house also has an interior patio on a lower level. In that area are located the bedrooms and the family room and it’s a private area. The main bedroom is situated on the first floor and it features views of the ocean. The vast white décor creates a very airy atmosphere and the red accents create a classical color contrast.
