Small house with a chic saving space interior

This is a small apartment located in Turin, Italy. The team from UAU office was asked to step over and remodel the apartment. The owners wanted to make the most of the available space they had in this tiny apartment. It was a challenging project but the designers managed to find clever solutions for all the problems.

As a result, the apartment got an ingenious piece of furniture in the living area. It’s a bed that rolls underneath an elevated surface, making room for all sorts of activities. This way there will always be a bed there in case it’s needed but this doesn’t mean that the room is less spacious because, whenever the bed in not needed it can just be rolled underneath. The owners also requested a multifunctional space without conventional limits.

This gave the designers a little more freedom and they were able to come up with this clever design. The apartment had a large living room that the team decided to turn into a multifunctional area. Now this area serves both as the owner’s bedroom, the living room, the dining room and the relaxation area. It’s only one room but it’s a very versatile space. The team managed to make that possible by heightening half of the room in order to create a wood platform for the relaxation space. This area has a sofa and a TV. The rest of the room can be used for all sorts of purposes.

As for the interior design, all the new furniture was made of champagne lacquered MDF wood. The apartment got a large wardrobe space that divided the entrance hall into two areas. The original furniture pieces are mostly vintage and they create a nice contrast with the marble table or the contemporary sofa. Overall, this was a very clever transformation.{found on decoist and plusmood}.
