How to choose the right wallpaper

Choosing the right color for the walls is difficult. When you decide to sue wallpaper, you have a larger palette of colors, patterns and textures to choose from. The wallpaper often adds the finishing touch to a particular space. Even so, the wallpaper should be the first thing to start with when decorating a space.

First, let’s see some of the steps that need to be taken when choosing the wallpaper for the space you plan on decorating. Decide what exactly you are trying to accomplish with this project. Wallpaper can be sued to create depth, to make a room look more spacious, to add drama or simplicity or to simply add color to a space.

Depending on the rooms, the options for the wallpaper differ as well. The living room, for example, is a social area, a place where family members and friends spend time together. It’s a place for entertainment so it should be fun, colorful and with beautiful patterns on the walls. As a result, pattern can be successfully used in living rooms without being overwhelming.

For the bedroom, things are a little different. The bedroom should a space destined to relaxation. It’s why the bedroom walls are usually simple and painted in pastel colors. But wallpaper can also be a great choice. A beautiful wall décor can be refreshing and relaxing at the same time. You can opt for a subtle floral pattern or for something a little more elaborate, maybe a nature-inspired image or something completely different like a geometrical pattern. The colors, however, should be simple.

Another room that can benefit from a colorful wallpaper design is the kitchen. Here you have the freedom of playing with colors and pattern and you can create something personal, joyful but also comforting. The kitchen is most often painted white or something as neutral as possible. But other colors, more vibrant, should not be excluded. For example, you can opt for a geometrical pattern similar to the checkerboards and it doesn’t even have to be a black and white combination. Floral motifs are not really appropriate for this space.

Some homes also have offices. As any other room of the house, they need to be decorated as well. In this case, bold patterns and floral motifs are out of the question. An office should look professional and as simple and functional as possible. Still, there are some wallpaper options. You can opt for something simple in terms of color but with texture or, if you prefer something different, you can choose colorful wallpaper for only one of the walls, leaving the rest blank.{picture sources:1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7}.
