Traditional Apartment Redesigned With Beautiful Neutrals And Muted Colors
The renovation of an apartment situated in Kiev, Ukraine brought with it a very beautiful palette of muted and soft colors. The remodeling was done by Paliychuk Olga Architecture & Design studio. The apartment has a total interior surface of 156 square meters and is located within the historical center of Kiev. That inspired a new interior design which brings together a series of modern and classical elements, resulting in an eclectic style with lots of charm and character.
One of the desires expressed by the owners was to create a fluid and seamless connection between the entrance hallway and the living room and kitchen areas. This was beautifully done by incorporating a selection of neutral colors and different finishes into the spaces. The kitchen, as you can see for yourself, is a semi-enclosed space with tiled gray flooring and soft beige wall tiles whereas the living room has light wooden flooring and painted walls.
Variations of these colors were also introduced into the bedroom. A light shade of beige was used for the walls which allows the wooden wall divider between the sleeping area and the bathroom blend in seamlessly. Similar to the kitchen and living room, the bedroom features dark furniture and is spread along a charcoal-colored wall band that harmonizes the decor and reduced the contrast in the room. The bathroom is the only space where a muted shade of red was used as an accent color. It’s an unexpected but bold and beautiful design detail.
