Charming South Carolina Cottage by Historical Concepts

This beautiful cottage is located near Bluffton in South Carolina. It’s a typical southern home with that particular charm that allows it to stand out. Even though this style is predictable and features constant elements that are always similar, every time the experience of admiring a cottage like this one is unique. The cottage was the creation of traditional architecture firm Historical Concepts. The exterior is strongly traditional.

The shape and exterior design of the cottage are simple and not surprising in this sense. The interior of the cottage is inviting and cozy, just as expected. The color palette for both the interior and the exterior are very similar. They feature the same contrasts and even very similar nuances and combinations of colors and materials.

The interior of the cottage was decorated by Ruthie Edwards. She used a sea-inspired color palette with soft blue tones and pale turquoise shades to create a calm and soothing atmosphere. Even though the interior décor is rustic, it’s also very fresh. It’s both because of the colors and the fact that the cottage is very well organized. The décor is airy and quite simple actually. Overall, the cottage is inviting and comfortable and the shutters give it a particularly charming feel. It’s a space that can be relaxing and calm regardless of the weather outside.{pictures by Atlantic Archives}.
