Before and after boy’s room transformation

Just like a man needs to have his room the way he likes it, a boy should have a room he likes as well. Decorating a boy’s room shouldn’t be very difficult. Let’s take a look at this room for example. It used to look nice but not exactly right. It started to be a little too childish. So when its owner went to visit his grandparents for two weeks, his parents thought it would be a good idea to surprise him with a room makeover.

First, all the baby stuff was removed. This includes pictures, baby toys and everything else. It wasn’t suited for a 9 year old boy anymore. Then it was time to give the furniture a makeover too. The bed was spray-painted in high gloss white. Well, the bed was the largest piece of furniture from the room so there wasn’t anything else to transform. The wall then got a makeover too. The pale green walls were painted with colorful stripes. We’re not talking about all the wall but just the one the bed is placed against.

Then the oversized table from the bedroom was replaced with something a little more sleek. The room got a new desk and a chair. To solve the storage problem, some shelves were installed. These were painted brown with white trim to match the desk. Next it was time for some new decorations. Some soccer art and a “Do what you love” canvas were nice additions. After the drapes were added as well the room looked complete. It’s a much more suited room for a 9 year old boy.{found on hisugarplum}.
