6 Ways To Decorate Your Mantle

Whether over a fireplace or a little nook in a hidden hideaway, decorating your mantle can prove challenging. It’s hard to find things to make the space look stylish and not out-of-style or boring. But it’s important that you do find decor that spruces up your mantle. It’s a focal point to any room it’s in and can really transform an entire space. And if you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace in your house, take the opportunity to make the mantle a shining star!

Your mantle is a great way to celebrate the seasons and all holiday festivities. Decorate with pumpkins during Halloween, frosty decor in the winter, hearts and pink accessories for Valentine’s day and maybe some seashells and beachiness to honor the hot summer days. Have fun with it!

It’s been said over and over again, but it’s so true and such a great option it will be said again. Mirrors add light, length, height and space to any room. And over the mantle is no exception. Whether you choose one or ten, mirrors at the mantle open up the room and create a shiny focal point that won’t be missed!

3. Stay symmetrical.

If you love super clean lines and simplicity, keep you mantle decor symmetrical. You can add some height variation or varied color palette but keeping you mantle balance will help keep the entire room in sync as well.

4. Texture and layer.

So you  may want symmetry or you may not! It doesn’t have to be even to be stylish and pretty. Using an array of objects in a sporadic manner can be a great way to go as well.

Make it a smorgasbord of things you love! Create a collage of pretty things, things that inspire, or things that make you smile and show them off!
