What others might have seen as a deal-breaker, architecture studio The Ranch Mine viewed as a challenge and an opportunity to be creative and original.
We’re talking about a beautiful site in Phoenix, Arizona which had one major flaw – it had a concave shape, getting narrower towards the middle to the point where it was only 20 feet deep. Still, they managed to build a wonderful family house here with a lot of cool features.
One of the things that make this house stand out is the fact that a lot of its indoor areas have matching outdoor versions. For instance, the interior kitchen is directly connected to an outdoor kitchen and there’s also 2 dining areas, one inside and one outdoors. The main living room is the area that connects a lot of these outdoor areas together, serving as a link between them.
It’s not just the common areas that get to enjoy all these beautiful views of the mountains and the wonderful and fresh outdoors. The master suite has its own private patio and its en-suite bathroom further emphasizes this connection by including an outdoor shower and big glass doors that let in the sunlight. Outside on the patios, there’s features that bring everyone together like a fire pit and also an outdoor fireplace with benches and comfy seats around it. There’s also a detached music studio which has a hidden roof deck with really great views.
