She Took an Old White Pumpkin and Covered It With Spiderwebs: Now Her Halloween Table Looks Like a Haunted Dinner Party

White ceramic pumpkins tend to appear in fall displays with leaves, candles, and neutral decorations. But one pumpkin that had been stored for years became the centerpiece of a Halloween dining table, covered in spiderwebs with an oversized black spider perched beside its stem.

For Lori of Dining-Delight, the old pumpkin provided the starting point for a black-and-white Halloween tablescape. She surrounded it with black lanterns, birch logs, bats, skulls, and small orange pumpkins, using buffalo-check fabric beneath the entire arrangement.

The table also holds an unexpected detail: plates purchased for Christmas became part of the Halloween place settings, with their black tree silhouettes fitting the darker decorations.

The large ceramic pumpkin has a carved floral pattern instead of a traditional jack-o’-lantern face. Light shines through the openings, while strands of artificial spiderweb stretch across its surface and trail onto the table.

Black spiders cling to the white ceramic, including an oversized one positioned beside the gold stem. The contrast gives the pumpkin a Halloween appearance without changing its original finish or covering the cutout design.

White birch logs lie across a black table runner beside a dark metal lantern. Artificial webbing stretches from the lantern over the logs, catching on miniature pumpkins, a skull, and a small spider near the front edge.

The pale bark connects with the white pumpkin while giving the black decorations a contrasting surface. Orange glitter pumpkins sit between the logs rather than forming a separate arrangement.

Black Bats Turn Candleholders Into Halloween Decorations

Black metal bat silhouettes hold white pillar candles above the runner. Their spread wings stand out against the window and dining chairs, with webbing draped across the metal and connected to the lantern beside them.

The candles add height beyond the pumpkin without another large centerpiece, while the bat shapes introduce Halloween imagery above the smaller decorations scattered across the table.

White scalloped dinner plates sit beneath smaller plates with black rims and tree silhouettes. Although the patterned plates were purchased for Christmas, their monochrome design works with the Halloween tablecloth and black accessories.

Buffalo-check napkins repeat the tablecloth’s pattern, while black-handled cutlery and dark glassware continue the same palette. The tree design provides a botanical detail without adding another Halloween character to the plates.

Small orange glitter pumpkins from Dollarama hold guest-name cards above the dinner plates. One displays a card marked “Lori,” with a miniature skull beside it and a fuzzy black spider resting on a white napkin ring.

The orange pumpkin stands out against the black-and-white setting, connecting each guest’s place to the smaller pumpkins scattered among the centerpiece decorations.

The full dining table brings the decorations together around the white pumpkin. Black lanterns and bat candleholders occupy the runner, while birch logs, rats, skulls, and orange pumpkins fill the spaces between them.

Buffalo-check fabric extends beneath every place setting, creating a repeated pattern across the table. The white ceramic pumpkin remains the tallest central object, with spiderwebs connecting it to the decorations on either side.

Rather than replacing her old fall centerpiece, the creator changed its surroundings with Halloween pieces and reused dinnerware. The ceramic pumpkin remains recognizable beneath the webs, but the finished table has a different character from the neutral fall arrangements it once suited.
