Contemporary designs in general are characterized by innovative systems, creative forms and practicality but in the case of the kitchen these attributes are highlighted even more. You can expect a contemporary kitchen to include simple but creative storage solutions, minimalist lines, fluid forms and stand-out accessories.
The Drawer Kitchen is a design by Gitta Gschwendtner with architectural characteristics. The kitchen island is particularly unusual but its design is not surprising, considering the style. A series of practical drawers looking like solid blocks form the island, the base being made of white birch wood, with a steel top and flush mounted burners and sink. A compact kitchen designed to be both practical and eye-catching.
Given that the kitchen is also considered a social space, an ideal design would be one that can adapt to accommodate different groups of people and that can also satisfy the needs of a serious chef. Obviously, this would require a lot of space but that’s not the case with “The Cut”, a design by Alessandro Isola. The customizable, reconfigurable kitchen consists of a central island, ceiling-mounted cabinets and a wall unit, all very chic and simple as well as extremely functional.
