Located near Kiev, in Ukraine, the Crazy BBQ complex is the type of place where bikers can gather for some quality time spent together in a beautiful setting that mixes vintage and industrial elements in a really great way. This one-of-a-kind complex was designed by Yaroslav Galant.
The combination of wood and exposed brick offers this place a very inviting feel, a little rough around the edge but, nevertheless, really pleasant. The complex includes the main building which could be called a restaurant, a covered concert area, an outdoor pool with a summer bar and three summerhouses with BBQ. The whole place is sprinkled with steampunk furniture and accents.
Outside, in front of the entrance, there’s a steam engine from the 1900s. It was converted into a BBQ and is now the main attraction of the complex.
The interior is this amazing combination of reclaimed wood recovered from old buildings, some of which date back to the 19th century, and exposed brick walls which blend together the two main styles: vintage and industrial. Of course, we can’t ignore the steampunk influences present throughout the interior.
A cozy nook sits in a corner. It’s composed of a U-shaped tufted leather sectional and a custom-made coffee table. A brick fireplace gives it a particularly cozy feel and the placement allows it to also feel private.
Everything here is full of character. Some elements were built from repurposed bike parts. For example, the bar has a beer tap made from a Harley Davidson motor. This area also features an antique fire extinguisher which came from a Boston fire brigade and dates back to 1895.
The chandelier has an interesting story as well. It was made from a wheel that came from a Harley Davidson motorcycle. It was outfitted with leather and symmetrically placed light bulbs that make it stand out.
All the other lighting fixtures are interesting as well. They all have industrial appeal and some parts used in the process came from America and date back to the 50s and 60s. A lot of the fixtures were custom made for this project.
The design was a project by Yaroslav and Ilona Galant. They used reclaimed materials that captured the essence of the styles chosen for the design and helped enhance the character of the space.
The complex is infused with rustic beauty and industrial charm. The long table and the two benches were custom designed and so were numerous other features. All the wood and the soft lighting help create a warm and inviting ambiance while the metal and exposed beams and pipes maintain the balance. The steampunk decor accents blend with the other elements perfectly.
The same strategy was also used when designing the bathroom. Antiques were brought from different parts of Ukraine and used to make this space unique and unforgettable.
