The owners of this beautiful apartment in Tel Aviv, two professional photographers and designers, wanted their new place to be their own mini gallery where they could display all their artwork, photos and items collected over the years. Of course, this also had to be a welcoming home and a functional one as well. They looked to a team from RUST Architects to make all these dreams come true and judging by the results this turned out to be an amazing and inspiring project. The apartment has a total surface of 75 square meters which is not a lot but nothing to complain about either. It’s part of an old building close to the center of the city
The entrance shows a welcoming and fairly wide foyer and also creates a clear distinction between the public and the private areas of the apartment. Both owners work from home so an office was a must-have. It’s a small space with a simple design and not many distractions. A big window lets in plenty of natural light and has a bench in front with built-in storage. This is also a space that has wooden flooring, a detail which helps it stand out from the rest of the rooms but also maintains a cohesive connection with the rest of the areas. The warmth of the natural oak wood is integrated into all the rooms in different forms. The open kitchen for example features a big wall unit with a curved outer corner, the lower section of the entertainment in the living room is made out of wood and so is the bathroom vanity. The apartment as a whole has a simple and modern aesthetic with a big focus on texture and originality.
