Unique Residence By VMX Architects-Sodae House

The next house we are going to show you lies in a nature area between Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, on Kostverlorenkade Island. It is an unique project that was inspired from the landscape.

Designed by VMX Architects, the Sodae House is very original and feels more like a loft than an island home. A very important feature is the large windows that soak the house in natural light and, also, make you fell like you are outside. The interior has a clean, simple design, with a neutral color palette for the walls, floors and some of the furnishings.

The living room and kitchen are arranged in an open floor plan on the first level. The bedrooms and bathrooms are orientated towards the garden on the backside of the ground floor. The house has modern features, such as the light fixtures, staircase and a sleek fireplace that acts as the focal point. The furniture has mainly light colors, the only colorful pieces being in the kitchen. Furthermore, the basement can be considered the entertainment center with a fitness room and a home cinema.

Siting on a 1,200sqf site the Sodae House forms an object in the landscape, the island acting as the plinth.{found on contemporist and hd}
