Spring 2014 Trends: From Colors to Accents

Before we know it, the cold weather will fade and the sunshine will resume its bright and happy head. It’s definitely not too early to prepare for your spring cleaning and redecorating! From lazy hues to funky accents, let’s give yourself a head start on all the hype in store for this year. Allow us to inspire you with some of the best Spring 2014 trends for your home!

1. Natural Textures.

From wood to papyrus, this year is all about natural textures. It not only brings about a unique sense of interest and taste, but it’s an outside-of-the-box way to enact a feeling of surprise and design.

2. Bit of Lace.

You’ll see lace out and about in fashion and home decor a lot this year. So, use it around the house sparingly and in fun, eclectic ways. Curtains, tablecloths or even thrown over the guest bed are all easy ways to incorporate it.

3. Super Blues.

Blue seems to always be in style, but this year, vibrant and electric shades are all the rage. Dip an entire room in this cool and striking tone or just compliment a neutral palette with its beauty.

4. Funky Shapes.

More than ever, we’re embracing the odds and ends. Whether retro or futuristic in feel, furniture pieces an accents with some funky shapes and silhouettes may be your ticket to room transformation.

5. Masculine Flavors.

Another trend swelling throughout both fashion and home decor are masculine accessories and accents. From pinstripe bedding to straight-edge style, rooms and nooks filled with some manly energy are definitely influential.

6. Word Play.

It’s time to use and live those words to their fullest. We love wall decals and wall art that uses your favorite phrases but this year, we’re amping it up a notch. Use words and letters in bold, daring ways!

7. Layered Curtains.

Layer up those curtains to create voluminous, ethereal elements. Use several sheers or a combination of transparent and thick, colorful pieces. You’d be surprise the transformation you can get from something so simple.

8. Confetti Dots.

Everyone loves a good polka dot print. But, what is loved even more this year are the sporadic, spontaneous looks of confetti style dots, those with no rhyme or reason with a gently, youthful spirit attached.

9. Hazy Grey.

Another delicate, subtle shade, hazy grey is becoming the new and improved go-to neutral. It’s perfect for the foundation of a room and for mixing and matching themes and style genres.

10. Fringe Fits.

Fringe is fun and festive, and it’s also a bit earthy and organic in style. Use this accent sparingly to create fun textured surprised and focal points.
