Impressive mid-century house renovation

This beautiful house is located in San Francisco, California. It’s a lovely home now but it didn’t always look like this. There was a time when this residence used to be old and musty. It’s a lovely mid-century house that got an impressive makeover and was turned into a beautiful modern home. The residence is also a very space-efficient space thatnks to the designers.

The house was bough by Lorena Siminovich and Esteban Kerner in a time when Lorena was expecting a baby. It wasn’t the best time to be looking for a home but the opportunity presented itself so they decided to start this complex project. At that time, the house had crumbly brick cladding, peeling paint, very ugly garage doors and lots of other things that desperately needed a change. It wasn’t the exterior that the couple paid attention to but the interior. Even though it still needed a lot of work, it seemed very inviting and appealing.

The couple decided to buy the 1,485-square-foot residence and to make it their home. The house needed a renovation and it had to be drastic. Still, some of the original elements managed to be saved. For example, the exposed wooden rafters and grid of windows in the living are original. The house has last been renovated in 1955. It had old furniture and musty rugs and it desperately needed a makeover.

The couple saw the potential of this house and decided to give it a chance to shine once again. They managed to turn that old building into the modern and cozy residence that you see now. They repainted and repaired everything and changed the furniture and the décor. Now this place finally looks like a family home.{found on dwell}.
