Colorful Poplar Library by Sako Architects

Library should be a place where you can relax, enjoying a nice book, find the things that are looking for and feel comfortable. This space should be attractive and make you come back happily each time you need it.

Unfortunately my experiences with libraries were not too nice. Usually I was forced to visit such places, the people that worked here were not so kind and these places were not so welcoming. The spaces were dark, with old pieces of furniture and old dusty books. Perhaps now things are different but when I was a pupil and student things were not so attractive.

Sako Architects created a wonderful space called Poplar Library. It is a beautiful and colorful library dedicated to kids. The amazing interior design is based on two rainbow colored ribbons that takes you to the two levels of the building and a great structure with spaces and gaps that fill the interior and attract those little ones to begin their exploration in the wonderful world of books. The magic space created by this firm is due to the fact that the gaps which appear in the bookshelves can take them to other rooms or can become a great private place where they can enjoy their wonderful book.
