Instructions of how to build the Mirrored Vanity Tray:

DIY Mirrored Tray Painting

Step 1: Painting

Start by painting your tray. You can use either brush on paint or spray paint. You will likely need a couple coats regardless of what you chose so spray paint is a nice choice because it goes on evenly and smoothly. Make sure to let the paint dry thoroughly between coat applications and prior to moving on to the next step. Here we picked a lovely soft pink so that our tray wouldn’t feel too heavy for the dresser which is where we ended up using it.

DIY Mirrored Tray Step 2

Step 2: Add mirror with glue

Once your tray is dry, attach your mirror with a thick coat of superglue in between the base of the tray and the back of the mirror (you can apply glue to both sides). Once you drop the mirror in, use your fingers to gently press the mirror down and hold pressure to ensure a good seal between the tray and the mirror when drying. Hold for at least 30 seconds or until the mirror stops shifting in the tray.

Note: Have your local hardware store cut your mirror to size prior to getting started (this is where we sourced the mirror). Measure the inside dimensions of the tray and have them cut a rectangle to those dimensions. We also took the tray with us to ensure that the mirror fit well into the tray before leaving the store.

DIY Mirrored Tray Clean

Step 3: Cleaning

Clean smudges off the mirror with windex and a paper towel to finish and prep it for display. Easy as that!

Here we used our tray to display jewelry and plants atop the dresser. It nicely reflect the white ceiling to add a little more light to our usually dark bedroom!
