Small Concrete House Opens Up To The Swedish Landscape
In 2017 studio Collectif Encore designed a very interesting house in Sweden. The house is unusual in the sense that it’s as bare and simple on the inside as it is on the outside and that reminds us a bit of another project that we reviewed a while ago: the Ark Home from Brenna, Poland.
This 130 square meter Swedish beauty is a concrete house with a simple design meant to suit a modern lifestyle. Its facade and interior spaces are finished in the same material and the same color: light grey plaster. This ensures continuity between the indoor and the outdoor on a level that we’re not very familiar with.
Several sections of the house can be opened which solidifies the relationship between the indoor and the outdoor even more. Inside, the polished concrete flooring seamlessly connects all the spaces while the unfinished look of the walls creates a casual and modern vibe throughout the house. Furthermore, the gray kitchen cabinets blend in seamlessly and that’s a very cool detail in tone with the overall style and design of the house. A wood volume contrasts with the rest of the spaces bringing warmth and comfort inside.
