This hillside home from Brazil has a ton of cool design features. For starters, check out that awesome. cantilevered swimming pool! But let’s start from the beginning. This beautiful is the work of studio Schuchovski Arquitetura and occupies a plot in Itajaí, Brazil.
The house has a modern architecture, with clean and simple lines that overlap and add depth to the structure
It’s up on a hilltop and the area is surrounded by a forest which makes it a prime spot for admiring the magnificent views from. That was actually one of the objectives of this project: to take advantage of the scenery and to incorporate the outdoors into the design in a seamless and natural way. One enters the house through a spacious double-height atrium and is then welcomed into the dining area which has this stylish large table with rounded edges. Above the table, a set of metal pendant lamps with sculptural designs draw the eye up and give this area a refined look. A green wall separates the dining room from the living area. More cleverly designed dividers have been throughout the rest of the house as well.
The swimming pool is cantilevered over the sloping hillside and provides a great view over the treetops
The living room is spacious but also very inviting. It has a fireplace and a big sliding glass wall that can be opened in order to let the outdoors in. Past it is a water pool surrounded by vegetation and beyond that a panoramic view over the forest. More stylish areas follow, like a kitchen hidden behind an elegant bar and a second living room with a magenta sofa, a really cool area rug, colorful abstract art on the wall and a connection to an open deck. Out there there’s also the cantilevered swimming pool which we mentioned in the beginning. It has a triangular shape and glass railings for an unobstructed view.
The glass railings create a nice border around the pool and outside areas without obstructing the panoramaThe pool’s unusual triangular shape adds to the character of this amazing houseAlthough this is a large house, it doesn’t have a huge impact on the site since the outdoor areas are at the topA sculptural white spiral staircase is one of the access points to the upper floorsThe living area has full height windows and sliding glass walls on two sides for a great connection to the outdoorsHere’s another stylish space divider which can beautifully pass as a decorationThe spiral staircase itself doubles as a divider between the living area and dining spaceA secondary living room is connected to the kitchen and barThe areas upstairs are framed by a long balcony with glass railingsIn one of the bedrooms there’s a sculptural sliding divider with a perforated designIn this bathroom, a deep soaking tub takes the corners area, with large windows framing itOne of the bedrooms has a blue-themed decor, with stylish marine accents and a stone accent wallHere’s another bedroom also featuring a blue-themed interior, with walls and furniture in matching nuancesIn addition to the spiral staircase, there’s a secondary one that connects the floorsIt seems each area has its own distinctive set of colors which help to make it specialThe house is built on a sloping site and the design takes advantage of thatFrom a distance it becomes apparent that the interior spaces are organized into two wings connected by a glass-encased atriumAll the sections of the house are exposed to the gorgeous views and get to experience the outdoors in a great way
