Lauren and Miranda’s colorful nursery

When decorating a nursery the easiest way is to go with clichés such as ponies, teddy bears and similar themes. Sometimes it’s nice to try something a little more different. Lauren and Miranda have 18 month and their parents have arranged a very beautiful nursery for them. They decided to go with a safari theme.

The twins live in Edmonds, WA, in a 12’ x 13’ room. Since kids love animals, their parents wanted to approach that subject. Still, they wanted something different and unusual so they opted for a safari theme. The nursery also transforms at night. During the day it’s a bright and colorful room while during the day it’s filled with stars and bright, but in a different way. It’s a very beautiful décor, inspired and original at the same time.

On the ceiling of the nursery there are a few hundred stars with fiber optics. They have been installed one by one in the crawl space. Then, the stars were painted over to be concealed during the day and to only reveal their true beauty at night. The starlit ceiling is definitely unique.

This element was something that the owners had in mind long before they started decorating the nursery. They wanted this room to be natural and safari-like without seeming too girly. They also wanted it to have a contemporary interior design. They had some trouble choosing the right shade of green. At the end they managed to create a wonderful nursery that any kid would be lucky to have.{found on apartmenttherapy}.
