Emma Francois’ home in Marseille

Every designer has a particular style. There are elements that are visible in all their creations, even though they might be hard to spot at first. These elements form the signature style of a designer and they are mostly visible in the designer’s home itself. That’s where the designer is truly free to express his or her personality and to use the elements that he/she likes best.

Today we’re going to take a look at a very special home that belongs to designer Emma Francois. The home is located in Marseille, France and the interior design is very special in the sense that everything in there tells a story. As the designer herself says, she doesn’t like new things. She finds old items more appealing because they have a story to tell and she likes to listen to that story and then create a story of her own by combining those pieces and elements.

The idea is very interesting actually. In this sense the designer becomes a sort of god that can adapt and change the details in a story and even it’s ending. Notice how in her home she used mid century modern furniture and a lot of unique items such as antiques, vintage and one-of-a-king elements. As for the natures, she used natural tones to create an inviting and pleasant atmosphere and to also recreate a certain nostalgic feeling.{found on 25underbarahem}
