Gorgeous Prefab Mountain Cabin With A Semi Circular Layout
Somewhere near Lake Tahoe in California, on a remote site with beautiful views stands an amazing holiday home designed and built by Sagemodern in collaboration with Hills & Grant. It’s a five-bedroom, six-bathroom house composed of several modules arranged in a semi-circle. You may be surprised to find out that this is in fact a prefab cabin on a larger scale.
Some of the modules including the kitchen, bathroom and squash court were put together in the factory located in Washington and the larger ones such as the living room or dining area were assembled on site. The exterior design showcases exposed steel elements complemented by wood paneling, giving the modules an organic look and allowing them to better blend into the landscape.
The interior design is eclectic and includes many interesting and eye-catching elements such as the beautiful fireplace design from the great room, the cozy breakfast nook placed by the kitchen window or the fact that the house actually has its own squash court inside a pavilion separated from the main building. It’s also interesting to observe the overall distribution of the spaces and their layout. Each main space was designed as a separate pavilion, a decision based on the fact that this is a prefabricated structure and had to be modular.
