A Tropical Urban Retreat in Jakarta
Designed by K-Thengono Design Studio, this four-story residence in Jakarta’s upscale Pantai Mutiara neighborhood offers a luxurious balance between privacy and openness.
With an east-west orientation, the home is split into two blocks: the western volume houses the bedrooms while the eastern one hosts the living and dining areas.
A central circulation space acts as a buffer, creating two distinct courtyards—one for arrival and another for private outdoor moments. Wooden bifold screens on the bedroom balconies offer privacy and sun control, while the top floor opens to ocean views and sunsets beyond the neighboring rooftops.
Throughout the home, warm wood accents, stone walls, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions evoke a tropical resort atmosphere—calm, inviting, and perfectly attuned to its coastal surroundings.
