Emerald Accents, A New Trend Next Year

Each color has several shades and, in some cases, they can be really spectacular. Emerald, for example, is a shade derived from turquoise. It’s a very beautiful color and works great as an accent in interior décor. In fact, it has been named by Pantone the color of the year for 2013. Let’s see how we’ll be able to use it in our homes.Emerald is both refreshing and elegant so it can be used in any room of the house.

For example, in the dining room it would be a very nice shade for the chairs but it can also be used in other ways. You could have patterned wallpaper featuring this beautiful color or a lovely rug based on the same shade.

In the kitchen there are several methods of introducing color. For example, the kitchen island is a great piece of furniture that would make a wonderful accent piece. But another idea would be to focus some of the attention on the ceiling. You could use wallpaper or maybe paint some patterns.

Now let’s turn our attention to the living room. Here there are lots of options for introducing color. One of them is to opt for colorful curtains and you may also use pattern for that. You could also opt for colorful furniture. An emerald sofa would look very beautiful in any living room. The coffee table and some of the accessories could also match these elements.

Emerald is a color that also comes in several different shades. So if you want to create a calm and serene atmosphere you could use a pastel shade and combine it with white. Emerald would also look good combined with blue or turquoise since it’s related to these shades.

Of course, a classical and simple way of introducing color into a room is by using artwork. A colorful painting displaying shades of emerald would be a beautiful accent piece in most living rooms. This idea can also be used for the bedroom, office or any other room.In the bedroom, a nice way of adding some emerald accents would be to opt for emerald accent pillows or bedding featuring this color. If you want to go even further you could have emerald-colored walls, although a pastel shade would be nice.

Your outdoor areas could use a burst of trendy color as well. Your outdoor furniture could feature shade of emerald, either as a unique color or combined with other shades. A small coffee table could also be a nice idea. It’s an image that’s especially beautiful in the case of a beach house where the vast sea or ocean is also visible in the distance.
