Warm, Open Design for a Family Apartment in Curitiba
Architect Camila Dequech Ceschin Abdul-Hak, from DC55 Arquitetura, renovated this 209-square-meter apartment in Curitiba’s Bigorrilho neighborhood for a couple and their daughter. The main intervention was integrating the living and dining areas into a single, open space, creating a functional and welcoming environment.
Warm wood finishes, marble accents, and custom millwork define the contemporary aesthetic while ensuring practical storage.
The dining area features a glass-topped table with wooden chairs and a sleek pendant, while the living room combines neutral furnishings, natural textures, and curated decor for a calm, inviting feel. Wood slat wall panels and a built-in media unit add warmth and visual rhythm, complemented by discreet storage solutions.
Lighting plays a key role, with recessed fixtures, linear ceiling lights, and statement pendants enhancing materials and setting different moods. A neutral palette of white, beige, and gray is balanced by the richness of wood, creating a refined yet comfortable home for everyday family life.
