Spring Cleaning: A Room-by-Room Guide

HOME OFFICE

Wash window treatments.

Heavy drapes and curtains can be vacuumed with your vacuum’s upholstery attachment, then spot-cleaned as needed. If they’re machine washable, add them to your pile in the laundry room for window treatments. If they’re dry clean only, add them to your stack for the dry cleaner’s. If they’re blinds, dust and wipe down with cleanser.

Home office cleaning

Clean glass.

Wash all mirrors and the insides of windows.

Dust shelves and all flat surfaces. Dust and wipe down every flat surface, including the desk, your computer, bookshelves, light switch and outlet plates, door frames, and window panes. Be sure to de-clutter as you go.

Vacuum walls.

Use your vacuum’s brush attachment to wash the corners and edges of the walls and ceiling. Wipe them down.

Clean floors.

Depending on your home office’s flooring, this could include sweeping and mopping or shampooing or steam-cleaning all carpets and area rugs.

You’re going to be so productive now, in this squeaky-clean home office. Keep it up!
