Industrial Warmth: IW Apartment Interior Design
The 63 m² IW Apartment in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, designed by Zalc Arquitetura, fuses industrial structure and refined living: exposed concrete slabs, oxidized metalwork, and a black‑and‑gray palette are tempered by custom furniture—like the Estudio Bola sofa—textured fabrics, and warm wood.
A green hydraulic-tile laundry wall becomes a discreet focal point, glimpsed through a perforated panel that lets light and character seep into the living area. Lighting runs in linear profiles embedded in beams and cabinetry, while sconces and pendants add warmth without cluttering the raw ceiling.
Storage and service zones hide behind a perforated wooden enclosure, maintaining visual continuity. The dining bench backs directly onto the sofa to save circulation space, and the studio-designed table doubles as a workstation with built-in power and network ports. Open shelving, a compact island kitchen, and a long black lighting track reinforce the apartment’s functional, integrated layout.
