Rollaway beds are sometimes also referred to as fold up guest beds. That pretty much explains what they’re used for. They’re basically extra beds that you can keep around in case extra guests stay over. They’re very practical because you can fold them and store them when not in use. That means you don’t need to have a full-time guest room but you can still accommodate your guests every time they decide to stay over. rollaway beds are very practical and convenient for several reasons: they’re durable, compact, affordable, portable, versatile and also quite comfortable. There aren’t that many different types of rollaway beds since they all usually share in common the same basic features but it’s still worth digging a little deeper and finding out what different models have to offer. It only takes 5 minutes to fully assemble this rollaway bed and you don’t even need any tools to do it. Once installed, you can fold it and unfold it with ease and store it in a closet when you don’t need it. It’s very efficient and very convenient thanks to the built-in casters and the compact form. The bed is also comfortable to sleep on, featuring a high-density foam mattress that comes with a cover that can be easily removed and washed. The frame is sturdy and made of high-quality metal. This is a twin-size bed frame that measures 75”L x 38”W x 12”H and which can hold around 220 lbs (100 kg).
This rollaway bed is even more compact when folded, being just 12” thick. That means you can easily store it in the bedroom closet or even underneath a regular bed if there’s enough space. Once you get this, assembly is easy and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. The frame of the bed is 74” long and 31” wide and has four small wheels that make it very easy to roll the bed around and move it, making it portable.
This folding bed also offers a really nice combo of form and function. It has a sleek but also strong and sturdy metal frame made of metal with a black coat of paint. It’s resistant to rust and has four attached caster wheels for addd mobility and convenience. When you fold it up, this rollaway bed’s dimensions go down to just 44” x 38” x 13.5” which makes it ideal for visitors. The mattress is soft but dense and comfortable and has a nice cover that you can remove and wash as needed. Assembling the bed is easy and doesn’t require any tools.
If you want a folding bed that’s even more compact than everything we showed you so far there are quite a few options out there. As expected, the reduction in size requires some of the other conveniences and features to be sacrificed. Most notably, the folding foam mattress is not as comfortable as the other types, being so thin and all. In the other hand, the bed comes fully assembled and is super convenient plus storage is extremely easy. The bed only measures 74.5”L x 31.5”W x 16”H. When folded it goes down to 36” x 31.5” x 5.5”.
This rollaway bed has a somewhat different type of frame. It features a spring-supported deck which is designed to offer more comfort compared to wire mesh or wood slat structures. It’s a well-thought detail worth taking into account. The mattress that sits on top is soft and offers good support, featuring 1” of memory foam on top of 3” of support foam. The mattress also has a removable cover. It’s well-supported by the metal frame and comfortable to sit on.
This is another rollaway bed that uses a spring support system. It has a simple and practical design similar to all the previously mentioned models. The frame is made of metal and has wheels for mobility and easy storage. It also has a black finish which gives it a sleek and stylish look. When folded the mattress is only 10” wide which allows the bed to be very compact and super easy to store and hide in the closet, under the bed or anywhere there’s space. The overall dimensions of this rollaway bed are 75” L x 21” W x 11” H. It can hold up to 300 lbs (136 kg).
The last rollaway bed on our list features a premium high-density polyurethane foam mattress which makes it extra comfortable. The mattress is reversible and also features a durable and stain-resistant polyester cover which makes it really versatile, long-lasting and resilient. The mattress rests on a steel bed frame and is supported by a flexible metal mesh base. The frame is slender and has small caster wheels that allow the folded bed to be easily and effortlessly rolled away and stored when not in use.
As these examples have demonstrated, rollaway beds are very practical, convenient and very versatile and can be useful in a variety of different situations. Their designs are simple and there aren’t that many options to choose from but there are still enough unique details to help you choose the version that suits you best.
