A Modular Container House Installed In Just 2 Days
This right here is a house that was installed in only 2 days which is impressive even for a prefab home. This is a project completed by studio MB architecture using their prototype insta house concept. Everything was prefabricated and then transported on the site for installation. This was possible due to the fact that the house is made out of six repurposed shipping containers. The result was this modern vacation retreat with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and a spacious living area.
This modular house was built using several 40 foot long containers as well as a 10 foot long one which cantilevers off the site on the upper floor. They were transformed and connected in order to create a seamless flow between the spaces and also to encourage indoor-outdoor transitions in general. The double-height living area is the central point of the day zone, with the private areas being situated upstairs or to the side. The floors are connected by an extra wide staircase with steps that double as sitting areas. All of the interior spaces have full-height windows which exposes them to the beautiful surroundings and ensures sufficient natural light throughout the day. Outside there’s a pool with a small deck and lots of greenery around it.
