Elegant midcentury modern kitchen interior design ideas

Most midcentury modern homes usually have the kitchen and the living room separated by a wall. It’s an interior design detail that can be adapted and changed. As for the style, the kitchens, just like the rest of the home, have simple interior decors and it’s visible that things take a turn towards minimalism. Still, the décor remains elegant and somewhat sober. But let’s take a look at a few examples to see exactly how this type of kitchens looks like.

This midcentury modern home originally had a wall that was separating the living room from the kitchen. The wall was removed and replaced with chalkboard countertops. The kitchen also got new cabinets and aluminum windows, appliances and flooring. It now has a modern look while also maintaining some of the original architecture and charm.

In the case of this home, things are quite different. The living room, kitchen and dining area share the same space. The style chosen for the décor is also modern but has strong industrial influences. The kitchen features a metal island with open storage, industrial-style pendant lights and an overall simple and functional décor.

This midcentury modern kitchen is also open onto the living room. It has a simple and very cohesive décor with furniture made of wood and featuring similar characteristics throughout. The fact that it’s part of a set makes the kitchen seem uniform and simple. The wood adds elegant and warmth to the décor and the color matches the design of the living room.

This particular kitchen is quite spacious. It’s connected to the dining room but the two areas are delimitated by a wall. The kitchen itself is very large and also includes a dining area with a minimalist L-shaped bench and stylish chairs placed around a beautiful green table. The rest of the décor is simple and bright and has strong modern influences.

At the end, we’re going to show you yet another beautiful midcentury modern kitchen. This one underwent a remodel and now features a more modern interior décor. Even though it’s quite small, it has an elegant interior. It even includes a small breakfast or bar area and a dining area with a beautiful chandelier suspended above the table. The brick walls are a wonderful accent detail.
