Carpets and rugs with animal prints

Our ancestral memory is probably present and triggers some very unusual tastes in us, since we discover we love animal prints very much without being hunters and farmers or living in the jungle, but actually loving animals very much. It must be in our genetic code to love animal prints as a reminder of the days when our ancestors fought them for their lives and sometimes lost the battle.

It is true that people still use animal skins as rugs, even though they are few, but they do exist. So no wonder a lot of other people simply love animal prints and want to have their special rugs and carpets with these models. My conclusion is that if you can’t afford a genuine animal skin you will have to be satisfied with an imitation in a carpet.

As you can see from the pictures, kids just love to play on such a carpet, as it suggests them the wilderness, jungle or some other unusual territory they want to discover. That is because they love animals so much and they will be delighted if they have one more piece of background to add in order to be more realistic in their play.

Because animal prints are a bit too much, try to use them in a very simple room, where the furniture is not full of decorations and keep everything as simple as possible. It is advisable to use such a carpet in the living room and to try to match it to some other details in the design of the room – like a nice matching sofa cover or the frame of a painting, etc. Do not use too much of this pattern in the room, as it will appear as bad taste.
