Port-a-Bach – A New Prototype For A Portable Shipping Container Home
There are lots of advantages that come with building a container house. The cost is attractive and so is the time required to build such a structure. But there’s more to such a project than these details.
The other characteristics become visible when you’re dealing with a project like the Port-a-Bach. It’s an idea which comes from Atelierworkshop Architects. They recognize the benefits of up-cycling containers to create large-scale projects.
Container houses have the great advantage of being portable. They can be easily moves from one location to another and this allows the owners to change the scenery and the views with ease.Architects take such projects to a new level. They’ve developed prototypes that use solar and wind equipment. The Port-a-Bach is a prototype not yet in production but it looks very promising.
It’s basically a breezy and compact home with a simple interior made of wood. It has a small kitchen area, a shower area, a sleeping area and a living space. They all form an open plan. The most interesting thing about this project is the fact that the house can completely open onto the exterior. One of the walls collapses and becomes a deck. The side panels open and light invades the interior. The best place for such a structure would be somewhere in the middle of nature or neat a lake. The project is ambitious and very interesting.
