Inside a Forest Hills Tudor Townhouse Reimagined by AhA!interiors
Submitted through Homedit’s project form, this Tudor townhouse in Forest Hills from AhA!interiors balances its English village roots with thoughtful, modern updates that support daily family living. The exterior sets the tone with steep gables, textured brickwork, and half-timbered details that reflect the neighborhood’s historic charm.
For the living room, Aha Interiors kept the historic charm but introduced cleaner, contemporary lines. The fireplace is reimagined with fluted terrazzo cladding and a Nero Marquina marble surround that adds quiet depth. Built-in bookshelves bring storage and display into one cohesive element, showcasing art plates and sculptural pieces that animate the room without overwhelming it. Soft upholstery, rounded silhouettes, and layered textiles build a relaxed family-oriented layout fit for the townhouse’s narrow proportions.
The kitchen renovation is a standout, where soft Bilboa Mist shaker cabinets meet a geometric field of honeycomb tiles underfoot.
The pattern grounds the space while keeping it visually light, letting the marble backsplash above the stove become the main focal point. The stone’s veining creates a natural sweep behind the range, framed by brass detailing on the hardware, faucet, and the vintage-inspired stove.
In the kitchen, the warm metal highlights every touchpoint—from pulls to fixtures—adding a subtle glow against the muted cabinetry. In the living areas, brass lighting echoes those tones, creating continuity between old-world architecture and contemporary design moves.
