A water feature is a great option and there are a ton of various different designs and ideas to choose from. One of our favorites is this shallow metal container which looks like a small pond.

Sometimes during the construction of a house you may come across large boulders and rocks which you can choose to preserve and then to use to shape the landscape of the site. In the yard you could create an awesome sitting area with benches made of rocks arranged around a fire pit.

Another idea is to focus on the greenery and to plant beautiful flowers which bloom to reveal gorgeous and vibrant colors. You can also have climbing plants which you can train to grow on custom-made trellises or ladders.

Instead of a common garden gnome you could spice up your front yard landscape with a cute and colorful dog ornament or, if you’re a cat lover, a cat ornament. You can probably find something at your local stores but you could also craft something yourself if you think you’re up to the challenge.

Everybody likes swings and you can never be too old to find them fun. Look around and maybe you can a tree in your front yard which could support a swing. If not, you can hang the swing on the porch or use a freestanding frame. Either way, adding a swing to your front yard (or back yard) would be an awesome idea.
