Easy Ways To Save Space In The Kitchen With A Door Spice Rack

With limited workspace in the kitchen, even a large one, anything that can help to free up space on the counter or in the cabinets is worth checking out. One of our favorite features for saving space in the kitchen is the door spice rack. There are many different designs for something like this and various ways to install and organize it. Let’s check out a few right now!

This works out especially well if you have a pantry. You can attach a spice rack to the inside of the pantry door where it would always be easily accessible but still out of sight most of the time. A custom-designed, DIY spice rack would be even better than a store-bought one because this way you get to decide exactly how big you want it to be, how many shelves it should have and how it should look in general. Setting up a proper storage and organization system for all your spices is easy and can be a lot of fun as well. Here’s another door spice rack setup, this time with a less bulky design. It makes use of a simple store-bought wire spice rack with four little basket shelves that you can put spice jars in. It’s easy to attach to the inside of the pantry door. Once it’s in place, all you need to do is put some labels on your spices and find a good way to organize them. Check out sugarmaplenotes for ideas.

It’s always great to be creative with your DIY projects and to find new ways of repurposing and using various items. These spice rack shelves featured on thestonybrookhouse are a wonderful examples.

They’re actually made out of cooling racks which are generally used for cookies and other things in the kitchen. The racks are easy to bend without breaking and can be shaped into these shelves which you can then attach to your pantry door. You can make them as wide as you want.

Building a door-mounted spice rack out of wood gives you a lot of flexibility. You can give it a multitude of shelves of different sizes and you can make it exactly as big as you need it to be. It might be good to take full advantage of your pantry door and include a few additional shelves in case you have more things to store in the future. You can use this organizer not just for spice jars but for various bottles, sauces and so on as well. Check out this simple design from 100things2do if you’d like to make something similar.

Another option is to actually use some spice racks for this project. They would have the right proportions and even if they’re meant to be freestanding or to sit on the counter, you could find a way to attach to your pantry door to save some space. Here’s a whole set of wooden spice racks attached to a door in sets of two. Of course, you don’t need to have this many if you only need a couple of them and you can always add more if needed. A door spice rack would be a great addition to a small kitchen and you can even make it extra big so you can store various other things in it as well. When you’re making a spice rack from scratch you get to decide how big you want it to be and how it should look. There’s also the option to avoid making a mess and saving time by purchasing the spice rack and only having to install it. There are plenty of great options out there, like this one from Dotted Line. It’s made of metal and it’s sturdy and durable, with a slightly industrial look that would easily suit most modern kitchens. It features five shelves and can accommodate 30 spice jars. Installation is easy and all the mounting hardware is included.

You can install this spice rack from Rebrilliant in a variety of different ways. For example, you can fit them inside one of your kitchen cabinets or in the pantry to save some space. They slide out so you can reach and grab whatever you need and you can even take them out completely and put them back on when you’re done using them. They’re made of recycled plastic and they measure 10.25” H x 10.75” W x 4” D which makes them quite versatile.

In case you prefer something simple, a spice rack that doesn’t stand out and doesn’t take up a lot of space, this model from Rebrilliant might be the perfect answer. It’s made of metal and it measures 18.7” H x 15.2” W x 2.4” D. You can attach it to any door with easy and it gives you plenty of space to store up to 32 spice jars, bottles and so on.

Designs like that of the Ohagan spice rack are really nice because they’re simple as well as super practical and versatile. The shelves keep all the contents secure, even the tiny spice jars. You can easily see the contents through the light metal mesh and you can four shelves on which to organize everything. This spice rack is also fairly small and measures only 20” H x 17” W x 4.75” D which means you can attach it to pretty much any cabinet door. You could also just have it installed in plain sight on a wall or on the backsplash.

The Bouldin spice rack is also quite compact, each individual one measuring 2.75″ x 11.25″ x 12.5″. Also, because it’s made of clear plastic it’s barely noticeable and makes the spice jars and anything stored on the shelves very visible. It’s a great look for a clean and minimalist kitchen. You can install several of these as a set on the back of your pantry door or have them spread out in different cabinets.

If you have the space for it, you might as well get a big spice rack. You’d be able to use it to store and organize not just spice jars but various other cooking-related things, the small items that usually makes a mess inside the drawers, cabinets and the pantry. Here’s another big spice rack, even bigger than the ones we’ve previously checked out. It could still fit on the back of the pantry door but you could also just choose to have in the open and attach it to one of the wall in the kitchen.
