A Modern Mountain Nest That Redefines Comfort in Park City
Tucked into the slopes of Park City, Nest by Sparano + Mooney Architecture reimagines the idea of a modern mountain retreat. Its thermally-modified timber façade and board-formed concrete details blend seamlessly with the surrounding forest, creating a warm contrast to the crisp alpine landscape.
The interior design is minimalist with natural oak floors, soft Venetian plaster walls, and plush bouclé furnishings. The floor to ceiling windows frame panoramic mountain views, while a central fireplace and layered textures infuse the modern space with inviting warmth and understated luxury.
Its passive design includes high-performance glazing, radiant floor heating, spray foam insulation, and strategic skylights that fill the interiors with soft daylight. Floor-to-ceiling Reynaers glass doors open the living space to the surrounding meadow, framing serene mountain views while maintaining energy efficiency.
The kitchen features warm wood cabinetry complemented by marble surfaces, with open shelving chosen by the designer to add a light, modern touch to the backsplash. The large kitchen island enhances both comfort and functionality while placing a strong emphasis on design and detail.
The bathroom features a beautiful freestanding bathtub with a gold floor-mounted faucet, positioned in front of a large floor-to-ceiling window that creates a spa-like atmosphere.
