A Modern Black Cabin Immersed in the Quebec Forest
In the stillness of the Quebec woods, a striking black cabin from Appareil Architecture, stands among tall birch trees, its dark form both bold and quiet. The exterior, clad in vertical metal siding, mirrors the forest’s vertical rhythm while absorbing the shifting light throughout the day. The cabin’s gabled silhouette recalls simple rural forms, yet every line feels deliberate and modern.
Light plywood walls, concrete floors, and tall windows openings create an airy, grounded calm. The forest feels present in every room, filtered through generous windows that blur boundaries between inside and out. A wood-burning stove and minimalist furniture keep the atmosphere restrained yet deeply warm.
The kitchen layout follows a clean, linear design centered around a long island that doubles as a workspace and casual dining area, seamlessly connecting to the living and dining spaces for an open, airy flow.
