Tips for decorating your Christmas tree

Christmas trees are a major part of Christmas decorations and Christmas celebrations without a Christmas tree would sure be incomplete. The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree dates back to 1510 when a few men belonging to the local merchant’s guild in Latvia ornamented a tree with synthetic flowers.

Initially a rose, which symbolizes Virgin Mary, was used widely to decorate these trees. The 17th century saw the use of apples to decorate the Christmas trees. It was only in the 18th century which some kind of innovation and use of candles and edible candies, which were used to add color and beauty to the Christmas tree.Having seen the history of Christmas tree decoration a few tips on decorating your Christmas tree would sure come in handy.


First and foremost place the Christmas tree in a place somewhere near the window where there would be some sunlight coming in as you do not want the pins from the branches drooping and falling off in between the celebrations.Choose a nice color theme for ornamenting your Christmas tree. It would not only look neat but also give a fresh look each year yet keeping the tradition alive.

Although you have a theme for decorating your Christmas tree, some nice vibrant color or simple decorations would add as a milieu for the tree. Choose good decorative items and make sure the hooks are in place so that they do not fall of the branches easily.A simple tactic to keep your decorations and ornaments from falling off would be to hang the heavier and bigger ornaments towards the lower end of the tree and the smaller lighter ones towards the top.

Use of metal-based jewels to decorate your Christmas tree would add that bit of shine, as they would reflect beautifully in the lighting, which you would have used on the Christmas tree.Use good LED lighting to light up the tree and make sure you check the bulbs before you hang them around the tree as you obviously do not want to be left disappointed when you realize after all the decoration is over that some of the bulbs of the lighting is not working.
