How To Decorate A Bedroom With Red Walls

Bedroom decorating ideas can be endless when you want everything to be perfect. Color plays an important role in the overall design. Red, for example, is a very powerful color and including it a bedroom’s décor is a challenge, especially when you’re using it on the walls. So to avoid going overboard, here are some tips.

Complementary colors: when you have red walls in your bedroom, try using complementary colors like sky blue to create a contrast. The color of the bed covers and other items can also be kept uniform to retaining the charm of the room. Including too many bright colors when the background is red can result in a mess so try to avoid them.

Furniture: wooden furniture is one of the best options when the color of the bedroom walls is red. Dark wood is always preferable in this case. If you desire to bring the shade of modernity in the bedroom, go for black furniture. The combination of red and black is incomparable and can create a beautiful ambiance.

Retro look: red is a color that can bring a retro look to the bedroom and there are many options to choose from. Putting a black wooden frame against the red wall can be no less than jaw-dropping.

Consistency: if you opt for a red accent accent wall in your bedroom, you should pick up the color elsewhere in the room using textiles and decorative accessories. Try to also create contrasts using the classical black and white combo.

Small touches of red: if you think painting an entire wall red is a little too much for your taste, you can paint a few red stripes. You can even create interesting geometric patterns.

Eye-catching decals and wall décor: use a red accent wall to bring out the beauty of your decorative wall decals and artwork. You can use white or black frames to display your pieces so they stand out.

Color blocking: Even though red is a very strong color on its own, pairing it with another vibrant shade can result in a very harmonious look for your bedroom. If the two colors are somewhat similar, such as red and purple, then the effect with be very beautiful. You can also combine red with orange.

Emphasize interesting architecture: a very nice trick is to use color to emphasize interesting architecture or certain elements in the room. For example, a bedroom with a high ceiling can look particularly eye-catching if one of the walls is red.
