One Chicago Building
One Chicago apartments began construction in 2019 and the building was completed in late 2021. It’s made of two towers: an East and West tower.
The block that these apartments are on used to be a parking lot owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. The company sought out a partner to build a structure on the site in 2016, and they worked with investment bank Eastdil to do so.
When the Chicago Plan Commission approved the building plans in 2018, the tower was called One Chicago Square. Once construction started, it changed to One Chicago.
The One Chicago East Tower is 971 feet with 76 floors while the West Tower is 574 feet with 49 floors. It’s primarily used for residential purposes, and it has 812 units. Other tenants occupy the lower floors, including a grocery store, luxury gym, restaurant, and event space.
Goettsch Partners and Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture both contributed to the building’s design. They planned for the higher tower to be one of the city’s tallest buildings, and it’s currently the 8th tallest in Chicago.
At One Chicago, there are three rental types, consisting of the One Chicago Apartments, the 23 West Apartments, and the 23 West Lofts.
One Chicago Apartments are the largest and priciest with one-bedroom to three-bedroom units. Sizes range from 797 to 2,211 square feet.
The 23 West Apartments and Lofts have studios to two bedrooms. They range from 731 to 1,566 square feet.
All three come with a lifetime membership for Life Time Fitness, on-site valet parking, and access to a rooftop terrace with a pool and grilling stations. A Whole Foods Market is attached to the building.
These units are described as a “boutique resort lifestyle.” It’s a pet-friendly community with a dog wash area, grooming and boarding services, and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor dog run.
These towers have 77 condos with views of the city. Condo owners get valet parking, and they’re greeted by employees as they enter the building to ensure maximum safety. Some units come with private outdoor terraces.
The smallest One Chicago condos are the one bedrooms with 1.1 bathrooms at 1,271 square feet. The largest units are 5 bedrooms with 5.2 bathrooms, including 10,412 square feet inside and 965 square feet of outdoor space.
Condo owners have access to the same amenities as the people staying in rentals, including pet-friendly accommodations.
