She Turned Ordinary Wood Blocks Into a Corner Shelf That Looks Store-Bought
Finding a corner shelf that looks good and fits the space can be difficult, so she built one instead. Using stained wood blocks, metal mending plates, screws, and wood glue, she assembled a geometric shelf that mounts directly into the corner. The finished design creates several display levels while hiding all of the hardware behind the wood.
One Stained Block Starts the Build
The project begins with a single stained wood block that becomes the base of the shelf. Every piece receives the same finish before assembly so the completed shelf has a consistent appearance from every angle.
Starting with finished lumber also eliminates the need to stain around hidden joints later.
More Blocks Reveal the Pattern
Additional blocks stack on top of the base to create a stepped arrangement. At this stage, nothing is attached yet, making it easy to adjust the layout before drilling.

Measurements Determine Every Cut

With the glue in place, the front appears to consist only of stacked wood blocks.
