This Hamptons House with a Green Roof and Infinity Pool Looks Too Perfect to Be Real
Designed by New York–based Mapos Studio, Peconic House is a 4,000-square-foot residence set on a five-acre site overlooking Peconic Bay. The project responds directly to its landscape with a combination of natural materials, a planted roof, and an elongated layout that follows the slope of the terrain.
The house is defined by its green roof, which merges with the grassy hill and makes the structure appear embedded in the site.
A key feature of the project is the long infinity pool that runs parallel to the house, extending the horizontal lines of the architecture and reflecting the views of the water. Outdoor terraces and a sunken firepit continue the theme of integration between living spaces and landscape.
The facade uses cedar, reclaimed ipe, and corten steel, left untreated to weather naturally and blend with the coastal setting. Wood finishes extend across floors, walls, and ceilings, echoing the exterior. A stepped living room opens through sliding glass walls to panoramic bay views, reinforcing the seamless flow between indoors and outdoors. Designed to evolve, the house ages with its materials and planted roof, becoming part of the Hamptons landscape.
