A Black Loft with Masculine Character
Casa la Marchesana in Bologna transforms a historic apartment into a bold, monochrome loft defined by black finishes and sharp geometry. The interior design introduces a dark volume that houses the kitchen, appliances, and vertical circulation, creating a strong visual contrast against the white envelope of the old structure.
The layout is compact yet functional, with a central island, built-in cabinetry, and a mezzanine that takes advantage of the double height. Leather seating, matte black cabinetry, and minimal lighting add to the masculine atmosphere, while wooden flooring softens the space and introduces warmth.
It is a project that merges contemporary living with the layered character of a medieval building, balancing heritage with modern edge.
A smart touch is the slim vertical shelving for bottles, doubling as a built-in mini-bar without breaking the loft’s clean lines.
