Contemporary office and living space called Smart Design Studio

It must be nice to work at a project for your own firm. Interior designers can design their own homes and architects can design their own houses or offices. It’s the case for the Smart Design Studio Offices. This space was designed by Smart Design Studio and it’s located in Sydney, Australia. The team that made everything happen was formed by William Smart, Anita Panov and Laura Morton who worked with consultants Brian Wood, John Tourle and Brenon Liston. It was a 267 square meter project and the results were exactly as imagines by the architects.

This area used to be a series of house rooms. It was then turned into a contemporary office and living space called Smart Design Studio. The building had two adjoining terraces with rear stables. Now it’s an imposing-looking structure, with steel and glass insertions withing an existing masonry shell. It has two levels of studios and a rooftop apartment. Even though it looks like a completely new structure, some of the original elements of the building have been preserved, such as the existing shell.

As for the interior of the building, there are full height storage spaces between each window opening and a linear joinery that conceals the kitchens, the bathrooms and the extra storage that runs the length of the wall on both floors. The interior is modern and rather simple. The working environment is pleasant and inviting, with excellent ventilation and natural light that can be individually controlled by the users.{found on archdaily}
