Imagine Living Into Light: A Glassbrick Apartment Décor That Glows
The Glassbrick Apartment in Berlin, designed by studio karhard®, reimagines light as the defining element of modern living.
A translucent glass brick wall forms the heart of the interior, filtering daylight through its grid-like surface and creating a soft, ever-changing glow that animates the minimalist architecture. The use of terrazzo flooring and natural stone brings warmth and grounding to the otherwise sleek palette, balancing structure with tactility.
Furnishings throughout the apartment are carefully curated from iconic European design brands, each piece chosen for its sculptural quality. The living area features the SODA table by Miniforms and the UTRECHT armchairs by Cassina, a pairing that merges glass transparency with bold geometric form. In the dining space, a B&B Italia table is complemented by Gemla chairs and a wall-mounted LAX bench by More, illuminated by a glowing chandelier from Sabine Marcelis that echoes the play of light across the glass bricks.
The bathroom continues this refined composition with the REFLEX freestanding tub by Antoniolupi and the colorful I BALOCCHI fixtures by Fantini Rubinetti, set against terrazzo and natural stone. Together, these elements express a dialogue between transparency, craftsmanship, and material depth — a distinctly urban interior that feels both open and serene.
