Did You Believe This Cliffside Retreat Is Real?
In Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Casa SofĂa by HACEDORMAKER_ sits on a forested cliff facing the Atlantic. From the street, its concrete facade stays closed and private, but inside, the plan opens directly to a patio, pool, and uninterrupted ocean views.
The house is organized by a T-shaped layout. Private rooms run along one axis, while living, dining, and kitchen spaces stretch perpendicular to the sea. Inverted beams structure the main volume, while board-formed concrete and aluminum screens control light, glare, and privacy.
The roof acts as thermal mass, balancing heat and collecting rainwater for storage. Every surface is tuned to work with the climate, from shaded patios to calibrated apertures. The result is a precise concrete frame that shields where needed and opens fully where the view takes over.
